I’m Cameron Jung MS,RD!
Greetings! I’m Cameron and I’m from San Luis Obispo County. My focus is to help people reach their health goals through the foods they eat and the lifestyle they live. I believe that by empowering people with knowledge, that is specific to their needs, they can learn to make good food/lifestyle choices for themselves.
I was raised around the food industry. My family owned a number of grocery stores in the Central Valley of California. At a young age, I developed an interest in food and became very curious about how the foods we eat affect our overall health and well-being. I had family members with various medical conditions and some disordered eating, which led me to realize that I wanted to continue my path towards becoming more knowledgeable about nutrition, as well as the psychological aspects that drive our eating habits and patterns.
Fortunately, I’ve worked in a variety of settings in the dietetic field during my career since the mid-90s. I began as a Diet Aid/Dishwasher in different healthcare facilities in the area. I’ve provided medical nutrition therapy (MNT) in acute care, long-term care, outpatient & home health, and public health settings. I also have experience in renal care doing specialized MNT. I have worked in public health in American Samoa and was a Speaker at the South Pacific Bi-Lateral Health Summit for Non-Communicable Diseases Conference in 2012. I’ve also worked with Native American tribes, specifically families of the Wiyot, Yurok, Hupa, Karuk and Tolowa tribes. All of my education and experiences to this point have led me to being, I believe, a well-rounded, knowledgeable, empathetic and passionate Registered Dietitian and human.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my 2 children & partner, being out in nature, traveling, cooking, listening to music and DJing out and about in the local region. I look forward to working with you to identify and meet your health goals!
