The term “Atypical Anorexia” has gotten lots of media attention as of late due to the circulation of a recent fantastic article from the New York Times: “You Don’t Look Anorexic”. On this podcast, we break down what this form of anorexia nervosa means, and how it truly is anything but atypical. We discuss the biases we have towards what an eating disorder outwardly looks like, and uncover how we as individuals can stand up to both the inner critic and societal norms that unfairly draw conclusions on health status based on weight.
