Eating Disorder Awareness Week 2020: Interview on KCBX Radio

In honor of National Eating Disorder Awareness week, I was interviewed on “A Conversation with the Reluctant Therapist” on KCBX Radio.

After the show, I reflected on what I feel I most have to contribute to my profession. I decided that my competence as a clinician does not lie in the quality of my meal plans or nutrition knowledge but in being a living example of returning from the black abyss of self-destruction.

The best I can give is an example of not getting hooked, one day at a time, into the lie that I am not good enough. I can be an example of unapologetic self-love. A love that isn’t contingent on the size of my body or my appearance or my health, but a deeper essence of being.

You can listen to the show entitled ‘Making Peace with our Bodies’ below.
